About Lomi Lomi: Does this DENS make SENSE?

I sailed out onto the stormy expanses of the ocean. The boat plunges into the blueness and flies like a feather, amidst the multiform waves, amidst the flood of sighs... - Can you stop? I haven't made the paddle yet. - There's no need. It's enough that you are. Dance... [...]

I sailed out onto the stormy expanses of the ocean.
The boat immerses itself in the blueness
And flies like a feather,
Amidst multi-shaped waves, amidst a flood of sighs…

-Can you stop? I haven’t made the paddle yet.
-There’s no need. It’s enough that you are. Dance…

And he sailed along the path known to him for years. His sail hung where life freezes in place.

After about 5 years of practicing Lomi Lomi Nui massage, many courses and workshops focused on perfecting a view of massage limited by boundaries and rules, I felt as if life had drained out of me. A stiff and aching body, increasingly frequent visits to the physiotherapist indicated that something wasn’t working. Clients were very satisfied, but with each session, it became harder for me to find joy in this work. The sessions I received in exchange for massage gave a sense of imbalance and disappointment. My Lomi Lomi Nui massage resembled the stubborn repetition of a sequence of successive movements. It evoked associations with classical massage. There was no heart in this massage anymore, only a head exhausted by perfectionism.

Lomi Lomi Sensual Dance in nature

Lomi Lomi Sensual Dance

I stand on the shore. The foamy water floods my feet, inviting me to dance together, and the previously known land tempts me to return to the paths that were safe until now.

  • Aloha Brother! Go ahead! Swim!

I enter the salty water. I cautiously step on the bottom. With each step, I go deeper. A few breaths dispel uncertainty, I lift my feet and swim. The wave carries me into the unknown and invites me to play together. Moment by moment, I feel lighter. I learn to move in this unpredictable rhythm of the water.

I approach the table. I close my eyes. I touch the body exactly where I need to be and exactly how it needs to be touched. I slide off the scarf. I oil the body. Hands gently glide over the skin. I listen to the subtle vibrations of the body. It speaks to me – every body has its unique language that it uses to communicate with the outside world. Its rhythm guides my legs. I dance and swim. Sometimes I freeze to listen more closely, to catch understanding. To communicate with the body receiving the massage on the level of its Being, through the prism of energy and its vibration, which appears and flows through my and its body. I feel it and trust it, being present at the same time. The body knows. The heart knows. When I feel and trust, I need nothing more. I don’t ponder, I don’t analyze, because everything is as it should be, so I keep flowing. Every movement lasts, even when it seems to have stopped. In this quality, I don’t have to wonder if I’ve done everything, I don’t have to check how I did it, because I work from the position of “the body knows.” I don’t have to stretch to the limit, I don’t have to do all the circles, I don’t have to do 3 repetitions, I can even do 20. This is not a massage about following a pattern, but a massage that flows in communication between the Being Giving and Receiving the session. One hand on one side, the other on the opposite side of the body. Hands are like transmitters of energy waves, like battery clamps. The scenario of each movement is written by the body receiving the massage – leg, arm, belly, back, head. I am everywhere I need to be. The movements and paths I traverse cannot be repeated. This massage is like writing a new story, which can only be disrupted by the controlling, eternally wanting to understand MIND.
THIS DANCE invites the MIND to let go, relaxes the body and its internal structures without the need to relax the muscles themselves. A fully relaxed body changes its sensitivity, begins to feel more and recognize more. It starts to feel joy and responds to the invitation to dance.

I keep flowing. I play like a surfer without a board, like a dolphin in the water, like a dancer leading a partner through worlds unknown to her until now. It’s a dance of Joy, Love, and Freedom.

THIS DANCE MAKES SENSE.

If you want to enjoy massaging and derive joy from it, I invite you to join the journey with Lomi Lomi Sensual Dance.
