There is a lot of controversy and misunderstanding surrounding these two types of massage, which often leads to tantric massage being categorized the same as erotic massage, which is highly unfair to this multidimensional form of bodywork.
What are the similarities and differences between these two forms of touch? What is causing the growing interest in this topic?
Erotic Massage and Its Context
Erotic massage involves a full-body massage including intimate parts. Its goal is to induce arousal, which in turn is meant to lead the recipient of this massage to achieve a physical orgasm. The dominant energy in erotic massage is sexual energy in its physical or biological dimension. Performing erotic massage does not require special qualifications: I mean completing training or workshops preparing for work with this massage. A bit of willingness, a pinch of sensitivity, and a sexual connection between the person performing and the recipient of the massage are enough. Such a massage can also precede a sexual act, which also aims to induce a physical orgasm, although this goal may not be achieved.

Similarities Between Massages
Tantric massage involves the whole body including the so-called intimate zones and is performed naked. Although massaging these zones is not necessary, it is possible – this similarity is what often leads to this massage being confused with erotic massage. For this reason, many people find it difficult to separate these two forms of touch and often find it hard to decide to go for such a massage.
The Purpose of Tantric Massage and the Role of Sexual Energy
The purpose of tantric massage is not to induce a physical orgasm (although it is possible), but to raise energy in the body, maintain it, and above all, to awaken transformative processes in the recipient of the massage, introducing life changes in line with our natural needs.
In tantric massage, the entire human energy system is worked with. However, because sexual topics are taboo in many social circles in the part of the world we inhabit (which often leads to various dysfunctions – blockages or accumulations of energy in the body) and our knowledge of this issue is limited to mere eroticism, the introduction of sexual energy and intimate parts into bodywork processes evokes strong reactions and makes sexuality the dominant energy, effectively influencing the psychophysical and energetic processes occurring in the body. It is also worth noting here that sexual energy is not just about eroticism, but above all our inner power, life energy, creativity, creation, action, and in the case of tantric massage, it is only part of this work.

The Multidimensionality of Tantric Massage
Tantric massage is more sensual, more sensory than erotic. It does not necessarily have to induce arousal, but it can (and this is an individual matter, dependent on the recipient of the massage). It more often induces a feeling of bliss, pleasure, inner joy.
The number and variety of types and techniques of tantric massage available at the moment make this form of bodywork multidimensional and also a great material for combining bodywork with coaching or psychotherapeutic sessions.
In tantric massage, we can work:
- with body acceptance and self-acceptance on a psychological level,
- with breaking barriers related to physical closeness or nudity,
- with accepting touch, accepting pleasure and exploring it in the body,
- with opening the body to an ever-wider spectrum of perception and sensations, with opening to insights that allow us to reach our psychological blockages, which can bring a lot of information to coaching work or work under the supervision of a psychologist,
- with fears and internal conflicts that do not allow us to go into life, act in harmony with ourselves, or pursue our passions.
Often, a session of such a massage can bring many benefits that we are not able to achieve by working from the level of the mind alone.

Preparation for Tantric Massage
To perform tantric massage, appropriate preparation is needed. It is worth first experiencing it yourself, confronting your own blockages, internal conflicts, or fears in laboratories or workshops, to be able to maintain the sessions you conduct, which are sometimes difficult to maintain when sexual energy appears in them. You need to be attentive, know in which direction to lead the movements in the massage, have a sense of the body, to appropriately energize or calm the processes occurring during the work.
It is necessary to establish the boundaries of work on a conscious level before the massage, and then maintain them during the session. It is very important to provide a safe space and allow for psychophysical expression flowing from the body during the work, while respecting the reactions of the person receiving the massage.
From my side, I offer individual tantric massage sessions, as part of the Holistic Tantric Massage Program, i.e. Senses Wide Open (work with body acceptance, pleasure, reviving life energy),
Kashmiri Massage (work with closeness and acceptance of pleasure), Touch of Fire (awakening inner fire and life energy), Dance of the Fiery Serpent (work with fears and healing the inner shadow), Birth of the Dragon (combining animal and spiritual aspects, healing fears, transforming weaknesses into inner strength).
