Do you need experience in massage?
You can participate in the lomi lomi course without any experience in massage. The course is conducted in such a way that beginners are introduced step by step to the secrets of this bodywork and easily master the material, technique, and gain sensitivity in working with touch, emotions, and energy.
If you already have some experience in Lomi Lomi or other forms of massage, the course will allow you to use your skills and develop them so that you can feel even more confident and work with touch with greater ease and freedom, which has a significant impact on the reception of the session by those receiving your touch.
What to bring to the course?

Before the course, it’s worth getting 2-4 wraps (also known as pareo or sarong). These wraps usually measure about 120 x about 170cm. The wraps will be used to cover your body during the massage, and also as a massage outfit (depending on gender, the wrap is tied at the waist or around the neck to create a dress). During the session, the wraps become oily, so it’s worth having a few to change, but it depends on your preferences. Some people bring only 2 wraps and manage just fine 😉 If you don’t have a wrap or don’t have time to buy one, you can ultimately use a large towel to cover your body (it’s important that it’s not too thick and stiff, but a so-called quick-drying towel will work).
For massaging, a short-sleeved or sleeveless shirt that fits the body is also useful. Women often massage in a shirt or top and a wrap tied at the hips (or just a wrap tied like a dress). For men, a shirt is useful if the body sweats a lot, to prevent cold drops of sweat from falling on the warm body of the person being massaged. Such a situation can cause distraction and discomfort for both the person receiving the massage and the masseur. The bottom of the masseur’s outfit can also be loose pants like harem pants (alladins) or shorts. Keep in mind that the clothes you will be massaging in may get stained with oil.
Additionally, you need to bring a comfortable, non-restrictive outfit for floor exercises (tracksuits, leggings) and, if the course takes place in winter, warm clothes for outdoor exercises in the morning (hat, scarf, gloves, warm shoes).
Massage oil during the lomi lomi course
Before the course, it’s worth getting massage oil. You choose the oil for yourself because you will be massaged with it. Consider your preferences or possible allergies. It’s best if the oil you will use is unscented, meaning without added fragrances or essential oils, because it happens that other people working next to you may react to different scents, even fully natural ones. In Lomi Lomi massage, coconut oil or almond oil works perfectly. Bring about 1 liter of oil with you.

During the massage, we use bowls with oil. We learn this method because it is convenient and non-distracting (we discourage the use of pump bottles). Bowls will be provided – you don’t need to bring them with you. We also have tealight warmers on which we can heat the bowls with oil. If for some reason you prefer to use oil bottles, please bring your own (it’s important, however, that they are plastic and do not have a pump, but a small, closable opening, e.g., a shampoo bottle).
Will you need a notebook?
A notebook and pen will not be needed because the classes are conducted in a way that will easily allow you to master the entire material during the practice with Lomi Lomi massage during the course. However, if you feel that taking notes will make you feel more confident – throw these things into your luggage 😉 After the course, you will receive the necessary materials to facilitate practicing and remembering the movements, techniques, and course of the Lomi Lomi session.
About two weeks before the course, you will receive an email containing all the organizational information regarding the course. It will also include a detailed list of necessary items.
